GENIUS Olympiad 2018 Applications Now Open

Syracuse, N.Y., Feb. 21, 2018 – GENIUS Olympiad announced today that this organization's 2018 competition will take place from June 11 to June 16, 2018, at SUNY Oswego, New York, and the applications will remain available for students all over the world until March 1, 2018.

GENIUS Olympiad is an international science fair that hosts projects in five general disciplines, including Science, Business, Writing, Visual and Performance Arts and Robotics. The competition focuses on environmental issues and sustainability. It is founded and organized by Terra Science and Education and hosted by the State University of New York at Oswego.

The GENIUS Olympiad is open to all international and U.S. students studying in grades eight through 12. The minimum age requirement is 12, and students under 18 years old must attend with an adult supervisor. The application fee is $40 per project. Participants can submit multiple projects in any discipline, but only one will be selected. The finalists will be announced on March 27, 2018.

“To promote the global understanding of environmental issues, GENIUS Olympiad not only provides challenges for participants,” said Wayne Westervelt, the chief communication cfficer of SUNY Oswego and the spokesperson of GENIUS Olympiad 2018. “We also offer worldwide young generations the opportunity to communicate and share ideas with each other to experience the cultural diversity and gain inspirations.”

“I have participated the GENIUS Olympiad twice. The most amazing part of this competition is that you can actually make friends instead of enemies. I really appreciate this event for gathering so many students who share the same interests as I do,” said Sarah Brown, a student from Manhattan Bridges High School.
